The main focus of our research is transport processes in plants. The development of higher plants as supra-cellular organisms requires coordination between distant organs. The operation of a communication network enables synchronized growth and appropriate responses to external signals and adjusting the developmental pattern and rate under variable environmental conditions. Our main goal is to dissect the molecular and cellular aspects of long-distance macromolecular trafficking in the signal transduction pathways of the whole plant.
